All forged motors are assembled right here in house at ECS. Machine work is done by M2 Race Systems of Farmingdale, N.J. Cylinder blocks are honed on a computer controlled CK21 Sunnen Hone to ensure an accurate finish and to precisely size the bores. Crankshafts are balanced on state of the art computer balancing machinery. Pistons and rods are pinfit to ensure proper wristpin clearence. After machining, the parts are thoroughly washed and inspected prior to assembly. Proper bearing clearence and piston ring endgap is then checked. Motors are individually assembled in house by our staff engine builder one engine at a time for quality control and to assure the best performance for that particular build. A consultation prior to your build will help to custom tailor your engine for natural aspiration, supercharger or turbo install if desired.
We take your engine on trade
Block:
Stock LS1 bored, plated and honed to 3.930
Crankshaft:
Stock GM balanced and polished
Pistons:
Custom Manley forged pistons using 2618 high strength aluminum. Pistons are made to ECS specs and machined on CNC turning centers to insure accuracy. Heavy duty tool steel wristpins are used
Piston dish CC's are determined by what application is being used. Whether the motor is N/A or forced induction the experts at ECS determine what dish to use to obtain the proper compression ratio.
Piston rings:
Total Seal file fit 1.5MM plasma moly high performance rings
Connecting rods:
Manley pro series "I" beam rods. Manley uses aircraft quality 4340 steel and 7/16" ARP 2000 bolts on these fully machined rods. Connecting rods are weight matched for a more precise balance.
Bearings:
King engine bearings high performance silicone coated bearings

ECS is has recently completed a dry sump LS7 427, specifically for Bob C., one of our employees and an avid Road Racer. The engine will be put in his street legal 2001 C5 Road Race Coupe.
ECS Co-Owner Chris Coriell's 700 ENGINE HP / 602 RWHP Naturally Aspirated 447 was the first NA Corvette to break the 600 RWHP (DYNOJET). Chris's versatile car is driven on the street regularly, and can be seen at many northeast events, car shows, running 11.5 index at Englishtown's Corvette Challenge, and is equally well suited to run on the road coarse.
