Description
NHRA Spec Safety Loops for C6 Corvette Drag Race Cars!
NHRA requires half shaft loops for the late model Corvettes that run better than 10.99. We spoke to an NHRA tech before we started our design and followed what they required. Although it is unclear when and what tracks will be enforcing the rule, currently we know of one track in Atlanta that is checking for them. It takes only 15-20 minutes to install these half shaft safety loops.
Note: Shaft moves in conjunction with lower A Arm. The loop is attached to the A Arm. The axle does NOT move within the loop and there is no possibility of contact or rubbing. Despite the C5 and C6 seem like very similar cars in suspension and design there is enough of a difference in their layout requiring a different axle loop to allow a placement more centralized on the axle shaft. This is the reason for the completely different design of the C6 version. This is nothing new but has been since the production of the prototype to current since the product was released many years ago.
